1966 Rolex Datejust
1966 Rolex 1601 Datejust in good condition
Reference: 1601 Serial: 1971186 Nice original Datejust. Case is in good condition. The jubilee bracelet has stretch and swirls on the clasp. Case still has sharp edges. I can't get the back open and I don't want to force it. There are two scratches on the acrylic crystal between 6 & 7 and the cyclops has a few marks. Hard to get the camera to focus on those, but I think you can see it in some of the images. Watch is 100% original. Serial & Model still present. No box, papers or service history. I purchased this from the original owners. This is the story I have about the watch: Owned by an older gentleman who is now deceased. He bought the watch new in 1966 or 1967. I purchased the watch from his daughter & wife. Wife was in late 80s and daughter in early 60s. The watch was always worn by the man. There are no box or papers. I was told they didn’t realize the importance of keeping that stuff. There is no known service or polish ever being done, meaning I do not believe this watch has ever been serviced. His widow said "he just wore the watch and it never gave him problems". Included: Watch only. Email: [email protected] Price: $2,300 USD shipped in CONUS. Payment via bank wire. If you don't like my price, make me an offer. I am fairly new to Rolexforums. This will be the first watch I've sold here and I've made one purchase, but that was on another forum. Happy to provide that reference, chat on the phone etc... I am in Seattle and happy to do a face to face as well. Thanks! |

Reduced to $2100. If you just want the head $1900 (but you pay shipping).
I received some info saying this may be a 1968. Through my research of the serial number it points to 1966. The owners wife claimed he bought it in 66 or 67, but then again she was in her 80s and that was 50 years ago. |
