Can they find the box?

I bought a limited edition watch from a prestigious one watch boutique in NYC in December, 2014. The transaction was a bit rushed and I walked out with the watch in a small travel case. From surfing the net, I now learn that I am supposed to get a presentation box with a loupe, a small plaque, the instruction manual, etc. I called and emailed to ask for these items. It was a five figure purchase. Do you think they will come up with the box?

Well it's 2 years, 2 months. I am hopeful they have one or the raw materials to put one together.

I think it will be difficult, unless you have a pretty strong relationship.

Which boutique and which watch?

Rather not say publically. Do not want to embarrass them. If they can't get the box for my model, I hope they can send me something similar.

Thanks for making me feel better, MonBK. I am betting they find the box or its equivalent.

You know come to think of it...I didn't receive some things from an AD 4 years ago.

I don't own the watch anymore, but I'm going to call them and see what they can do for me.

Thank you for reminding me

I'm interested in knowing what things your AD didn't provide you with 4 years ago. Please tell us.

Wasn't that the one were you only received the box and no watch?

Your memory is better than mine Mon...that could be it though.

I'm racking my brain, but I'll write that one down so I don't forget.

Hey, I pay a lot for these watches. I just want what I deserve. The box is not made out of rare earh elements. I am sure they can get one together. I hope.

I think they hallucinated that you wrote for this 2.2 years later, wouldn't put too much hope in this

I think they should be exposed because that was really a big mistake. I think 2+ years later you will be lucky if they come through. So perhaps you can name the place and give praise if they come through.

I guess it can't hurt to call and ask. I would assume they have record of your transaction. Did you get the owner's manuals and warranty card?

If you didn't get that it would make it easier for them to identify the items as yours. During a normal inventory most stores would have sent it out or what not once identified.

Is that for your JLC Geophysic ? I'd be surprised if that box & loupe is still hanging around

Help me understand here; why did YOU walk out without the box, papers etc? Was the Boutique supposed to ship the box/papers and they forgot?

They gave me a receipt and a small travel box. I was unaware of a more elaborate presentation box that came with my model. I discovered such a box exists from an internet search.

You can understand that this sounds rather odd, right?

Was this your first purchase of this kind? I don't understand how you could have walked out without the full set.

On the flip side, neither can I understand how the boutique staff let you walk out without the full set.

If it was an LE as you stated, with specific packaging (special box etc) then I can't see how they can magically come up with a replacement assuming your original set is long gone (disposed of, repurposed etc). In that case any non original replacement is pretty much worthless in the eyes of a potential buyer.

Do let us know how this plays out.

At least tell us what watch it was ... usually we say: post pictures or it did not happen.

To all those who made fun of me, my box and papers are in transit. Pix to follow upon receipt.

So they had in fact kept your original packaging? Good news if that's the case.

I'm far more curious about this if they had not kept your original packaging. I was skeptical that any manufacturer would be willing to recreate the papers/boxes etc.

Although I still don't know how you walked out without this stuff? We're you just too excited about the actual watch purchase? I think I could almost understand that especially if it was something you'd lusted after or wanted for a long while.

All is well that ends well. Glad you got it resolved to your satisfaction.
