Found these two vintage Rolexes
Hello. My friendīs father is a watchmaker. Heīs 80 years old and is retiring. He is getting a bit senile.
He has a lot of old watches and I was asked by his family if those two were valuable. I leave it here for those who know something about this. There were also hundreds of other watches, like Omegas etc. I would appreciate if somebody could tell me something about those watches

Very nice. Probably late 30s to 40s.

The family probably has a LOT of money worth of old parts in the old-timer's desk drawer. Bear in mind a particular rare Rolex dial (just the dial!!) can be worth tens of thousands of dollars. Be cautious.

The old Omegas can have value. Also, old Universal Geneve watches (a defunct maker) can be a lot more valuable than you expect.
Why don't you post more pics. This forum has some knowledgeable folks who will have fun ohhing and aahing and sharing their tips. |

I recently purchased a watch quite similar to the one pictured first. Mine has a slightly different dial and gold plated case and was called a Wellington. My research leads me to believe these watches are circa early-mid 1940s and were sold to members of the military of commonwealth countries through their Post Exchanges. IIRC the price was around $58.00 US
