Love getting those green boxes. Who needs self control. What was the other incoming? Did I miss something?

EDIT .. ohhh ... the JLC, I just saw it (I rarely venture outside the AP section) ... Gorgeous! You have an incredible and tasteful collection buddy!

The new C44 is very nice indeed! But no, not that...

LOL! It most certainly does Paul, hence the need for the vow to restrain myself. Hey, talking about that, where's my Sushi?

The Ti44 is next if things work out.

It's 2:30AM in the morning and I am having insomnia. Will post pics tomorrow. Don't get your expectation ram up though. This one is a much more "modest" incoming but still very nice. I have actually been talking about it. There, I gave it away.

Thanks guys.

Here you go... my new AP is the 2017 Novelty Royal Oak Chronograph in SS and blue dial.

The blue dial is stunning, in an electrical blue tone that changes rapidly with changes in surrounding light. I can't tell if it is the exact same blue as the previous blue ROC since I can't do a side by side comparison but it's just as nice if not better. It's as nice as the petite tappiserie dial in the Jumbo but it's a different kind of blue.

The sub-dials are silvery with sunburst finishing. The larger dials allowed for better legibility when running the chrono. The date position is indeed slightly off-centre and I was concerned it will be a distraction but in practise, it does not and I got use to it fairly quickly. Date disc color is also harmonised with the dial. One huge ( to me ) added benefit of this new ROC is that AP has removed the screw down pushers. Yes, just press the pushers and the chrono gets going. The screw-down crowns around the pushers are still retained for aesthetic purposes.

The watch fits well, very comfortable, with the usual excellent AP finishing on the bracelet and case and has a unique lighting effect when on the wrist. The 41mm which for me is too big on a standard royal oak, looks perfect on a chrono as the additional space is put to good use.

Overall, it's a pleasure to own. Does the lack of in-house movement bothers me? Being a movement snob, yes, just a little, and I would have preferred it to be in-house but the F.Piguet is a well respected and proven movement. There is also no guarantee that inhouse is going to be better or more reliable and sometimes brands do run into teething issues when a new movement is launched. Even as of now, there are still on and off problems reported by some owners on the 3120 AP inhouse movement. If indeed the new in-house ROC movement is launched next year and appeals to me, I can always add a PM version.

I'll come back later here to post additional pics.

Congrats Ben. It looks stunning, enjoy!

I hope the 44 Ti is next before you put a moratorium on watch purchases for the rest of 2017.
