USD 15K should be a good price considering you are getting from an AD. Over in Singapore, even grey dealers are selling this model at exorbitant prices. Here, take a look at their advertisement. However, they say they have one in-stock.

Compare to official Rolex MRSP as per their website

All prices are in Singapore dollars. USD 100 = SGD 138.00 +/-

First off this is in Singapore dollars not in USD. Let's be realistic it is 16.5 USD and that is the going rate on the grey market. NOTE* I just seen the mention at the bottom of the post.

You can only sell them for what you buy them for. I assure you Grey dealers are paying over MSRP just to have them in stock.

Correct, that is why I said the USD 15K quoted to OP by an AD is a reasonably better price than even grey dealers.

SGD 23,200.00 is equivalent to USD 16,812.00

So, USD15K is the prevailing rates sold by AD, I suppose? No?

Anyway, Rolex Singapore SA has clamped down on those ADs selling their watches above MRSP. If they do, the AD risk getting their agency revoked.

Yeah, I got 16.5K but we are splitting hairs. Also it should be understood that they are not an AD and generally pay market value.

The AD mark up issue is another story inside this post that I am against but the Grey Market is held hostage by ADs and people looking for a flip.

All the best!

If you want it and that's the best price available then that's the price.

If you want it bad enough to pay above MSRP I would look around and find one in stock at an AD.

In Brazil the import taxes are very high, this would be a regular price (MSRP) In Brazil i guess, i could go on a us AD and get the 12k there, but would need to face this thing called waiting list.

If that price is out the door it's not bad if you really want it. Even at MSRP in the US with tax it'll end up over US $13k.

Agree with Jason...pretty reasonable if you're looking at gray prices in general. If it's worth it to you, go for it.

I don't think it's the same.

For example, the Daytona:

$14,250 - CDN
$12,400 - US

The US dollar is stronger than Canadian, so if we factor the FX rate:

$1.35 CDN = $1 US

The US one will cost approximately $16,740 CDN before any taxes, so it is better to purchase the watch up here in Canada a $2,500 savings. - the only problem; getting one

Don't forget Canadian taxes. At a minimum it will be an additional 5% regardless of province. Average tax across provinces is 13%.

Market price is considered the fair value price. I'm sure you would reconisder your comment if Rolex listed the watch for $10,500 and you were offered it for 12k on the gray market. I see what you're saying about it being difficult to purchase something over the manufacturer's suggested retail price, but if we are to believe in market pricing then it applies both when demand outstrips supply and vice versa. Our expectation is to receive a discount on a watch that nobody wants and is stocked readily at shops, so the same logic applies in the opposite case.

Personally, I wouldn't pay it. However, if you can 'live' with the premium, then go for it.
