SD43 A red second hand?
As much as I do love the new SD43, I think a red second hand would of really made it pop.
Would anybody else liked to have seen that??? Can anybody Photoshop it?

IIRC, red would be less visible when underwater. So that may not be too practical for a dive watch.

Why not, I mean the cyclops and the big case size are already such a far departure what's another zany unexpected thing.

Too much red on black is a bit demonic.

So many against the red second hand. This is the watch I was hoping would come out this year, to no avail, but I think the red second hand along with the red lettering really makes this look sharp. I might actually have a red second hand put on the SD43 when I am lucky enough to get it.

MMMM second go around, now that I have the SD43, I am really considering it now...
No biggie as far as a mod, can always changed back to original.. Any idea of cost and if a local AD would even do this service.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I think you'd have to look into having someone like Vanessa or an independent watch maker make this happen.
Then again, I'm not sure how many aftermarket date wheels exist for the 3235 movement |

I always thought the RED Seconds hand was cool. Surprising Rolex does not do it more often for special models as a limited run. Heck, they don't even have to say it's limited, just do it and stop. Just like the rumor of the RED Text going away after 1 year, and changing to WHITE.

Rolex service certainly won't make that change but LA watchworks would definitely do it you just need to supply the second hand

That said, you could easily have an independent switch is back prior to any needed Rolex service. |

I think it looks great ! The red hand removes the "rest home" factor from the watch ....... a bit of flair but tasteful.

TBH, the red seconds hand doesn't pop against the black background IRL as much as it does in the pictures...that's my experience, anyway. I had a Daytona with the so-called PN dial and red chronograph hand...beautiful watch but the chrono hand never really grabbed my attention as it does in photos.
So, bottom line for me would be, do you get the bang for your buck. Probably not, IMO, but it's your watch and easily reversible, as others have pointed out. Just my two cents. |

Oh shoooot, that's a crazy mod! I sort of want a red date wheel on my 16610 now...
I agree, a red second hand on the new SD would be interesting for sure.
