This Tudor 7016/0 sets off the alarms...questionable dial/Case...!

Err buddies...does anyone know this eBay Seller - littlegems121 (339 FB) ...?

He is seen as listing a Tudor 7016/0 ...that would seem to have
questionable issues...in Orchi's own opinions.

"This watch is in superb condition and in perfect working order. It is dated 1968 the model is a 7016/0,the serial number is 737*** The band is a later Rolex service replacement, the dial has not been re-finished or touched up and has the rare rose design logo. The watch is 9 out of 10 condition,PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT TAKE PAYPAL OVER $1000."

1. The Case is too fresh to be coming from the 60s...NOT even a speck of rust spots...or imperfection can be observed...

2. The Case Ref #s do NOT look to be consistent with what Orchi has bee observing so far...

3. The Dial looks to be a RE-DONE Dial...or later replacement Dial.

4. Seller says the "7016/0" Watch is dated in 1968 with Serial Nos. 737,XXX...(on the caseback "IV.68" which looks to be brand new)...BUT that sort of Serial Nos...would normally exist in Tudor range of watches around the year 1970 or so...

5. Engraving on outside of its backcase looks to be too fresh to be true...

6. The marking on the Rotor Blade of the 2461 or 2483 movement looks to be wrong...n different from the actual ones seen so far...

orchi,
In my opinion it is one of those fake 7016's that are so common right now.
with that rotor on it,I beleive the movement is one of those fake Chinese copies as well.
I would bet my life that the complete serial number is 737738
this needs to be reported ,pronto!!

...I beleive....

...this is one we discussed previously.

...like SteveM, if I had to guess, the SN is most likely 737738, known to be REPEATEDLY used on the fakes.

...to me, the case back is okay, as I have seen this on many of the 7016. Likewise, the font is correct in the 7016 numbers.

...HOWEVER, the dial is SUSPECT along with the rotor on the mvmt.

Stan.

Err buddy Stan...very glad to hear from you here...even when you are feeling
unwell...

Nevertheless...when you are up n running soon...hopefully we can discussed further on the issue with Case of this watch...which Orchi thinks is a
Re-production...

IF one looks at the "7016/0" stamped nos....one could compare not only the
inconsistent font("7" is too small)...but also the "/" is NOT as slanting as compared the original "/" font from a correct Tudor's Rolex Oyster case.

Here's the correct examples from a REAL deal which you would be
very familiar with...

One would notice the difference in the actual fonts used...n the period correct backcase stamping for S/Nos "62x,xxx" dated to 1968...

This seller, and this watch, have turned up again. Sold to user on TZ-UK, then listed on eBay (and promptly withdrawn for “error in listing”). The scammer keeps trying to sell this watch off as genuine, even after a court case.

That’s correct but the Scammer is still “at it”

Robert Victor Long aka Bob Long and on the bay as Littlegems121. Resides in Bungay, Norfolk in the UK.

Here’s the thread

https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...-serial-860976

Different watch but still a scam

Reigniting this old thread.. I am looking at a Tudor "maxi rose" 7016/0 that has a serial 737771. This would put it around late 1969, which I know is late for a rose dial, but it has been with one owner since then and was extensively used for dives in the Navy. Is every 737xxxx a fake?
