Is It Really Correct To Call The 2017 Sea Dweller 50 Years Old?
When it clearly has not been made for 50 years? A bit dishonest as I see it.

I think you might be a bit too concrete in your thinking.

The watch has not been produced for 50 years. Clearly its not 50 years old.

I think its quite obvious that they're referring to the 50 years of the model's heritage...or am I missing the point here?

This new sea dweller is 50yrs old so Rolex put a cyclops hope it can see better. As u know when 50yrs old watches do need glasses they r like human.
Also Watch does grow fatter when it is 50yrs old they r like human put on weight. |

I don't think anyone means 50 yrs of continuous production but rather 50 yrs of its launch. Still it can be 50 years as Deepsea is still part of Sea-Dweller model for the times regular SD was not made. Do you see the same thing with 60th anniversary models of Omega's trilogy announced this year? None all of them are continuous productions and especially Railmaster!

i agree! when car manufactures release a 50th anniversary edition of a car i dont understand why they dont build it exactly as it was 50 years ago
***note this was intended as a full sarcastic comment lol!***
