Best pic I've seen that shows the size of the new Sea-Dweller

This was posted in another thread but it's one of the only pictures I have seen so far that accurately show the 43mm size of the new Sea-Dweller right along side of a 40mm sport model

I don't know where all the talk is coming from about how huge this watch is but to my untrained eyes it looks great, and it certainly doesn't tower over the 40mm watches. And the lug width and tapering make it look so much more proportional. I'm so glad they increased the bracelet width.

I like to think of it as a properly sized Sub :)

Not a big fan of the blocky lugs on the new Subs. They did a better job on this model IMO

This is a great pic of a great watch. I would buy one if I weren't allergic to 904l. Completely agree about the lug width, much more natural than other >40mm rolex.

I'm liking it. And while I'm still not 100% sold on the date-magnifier, I'm starting to warm up to the watch overall. And in that pic, the dial sure looks matte-like (or 'satin' in Rolex-speak). -Rick.

Let's just hope that this ref doesn't end up like the DaytonaC.

Looking at that photo, I think that it looks comically huge and dwarfs the 40mm GMT

Freaking ugly alien watch. SD 16600 and SD 116600 will be very sought after.

X2, I will save final judgment for an in person inspection, but nothing seems timeless classic about this reference.

Tell us how you really feel?

Broken record at this point but I need to try it on.

It looks like it's 42mm, dial looks around the same size so the extra is in the bezel which makes it look smaller than 43mm. Hopefully thickness is 15/16mm and it will be very wearable.

They made this version because no one was buying the old version. If that suddenly becomes desirable it's a kind of "dirty" demand if you ask me and has nothing to do with the watch, these are for mercenaries.

So, if the SD4K was selling like hot-cakes, would they not have bothered with a 50th Anniversary model?

Probably would have kept the same dimensions but changed the dial.

They might have kept the old SDC in the line if it was selling like hot cakes

I like it too. Hopefully it will not be like the Daytona as I would like to this in the real.

Where does this notion that everyone would totally buy hot cakes come from anyway?

Who even wants hot cakes?

Doesn't look "very big" to me, just looks bigger than the GMT, which to me anyway looks a little small. Guess it's all about perspective. I have larger than average wrists I think (7 5/8") so I think 43mm might be perfect. But again, the increase in bracelet width and the tapering of the lugs goes a long way too. Won't know for sure until I try one on, but from the looks of the demand that could be a long time from now
