Jinhao NJ141 red dragon 100 gram
What a nutball pen! This pen weighs in at a little over 100 grams! The body is all metal and painted. They could have made it out of resin but that's not the Jinhao way! All metal all the time. Most importantly it's well done. The body is covered in a cast and plated frame of dragons, one with red jeweled eyes. There's no flashing in the dragon frame casting and the eyes are covered in a clear resin so they should not come off. This is somewhat of a homage pen to the Montegrappa Bruce Lee and "dragon" very limited editions. It's heavy and it's awesome! The finale is even threaded so you can post the pen! Total madness as the cap weighs as much as a small truck. As a final conviction of insanity, the nib is a fine #4. I don't think there's a pen out there that's this crazy. Only the Chinese would make something so clinically insane. It's a super heavy pen but it's as much fun as I've had writing with a pen. You whip this thing out at work and people's heads explode! They don't just ask questions but fall out of their chairs and suffer a concussion. You bust this thing out at a meeting with a day-date and there won't be any survivors. Consequently no action items either! I used it as my sole pen the other day and it was an experience for sure. After a page of writing, you're going to feel it. Oddly enough, posting the pen felt best for balance to me. I did a small amount of detail work to mine in the pictures. I filled in the clip embossing with red enamel to give it more depth. Standard is all gold plated relief. I felt it could use a little pizzazz here so I filled it in. If your a bit eccentric, you need one of these pens. It's just crazy fun to run a purely signatory pen like this on a daily basis especially for the bare minimum fountain pen price of these Jinhao's. They're actually very good nibs too. Every document feels like your making executive orders or signing international treaties. See you guys at the next G8/G7 summit!
