Where is Clint Eastwood's root beer GMT?

We all know that for the better part of 30 years Clint wore his iconic root beer GMT. I have noticed lately however that any interview photos of him have him wearing something else on a strap. Also, apparently since the movie "American Sniper" (which Clint directed) Bradley Cooper has been seen wearing a root beer GMT on a strap. One report made an assumption that Clint gave his famed root beer GMT to Bradley after the filming of the movie.

Does anyone know the story? did Clint really give his iconic GMT away?

Maybe Clint and Bradley have similar tastes? I know I want one after seeing one in the wild in an airport.

I am still looking for one... I keep missing the good deals. Always late for the party!

It seems like I've seen Eastwood wearing his Rootbeer since 2014 but I'm not certain.
Here is article of your same speculation that he gave it to Bradley Cooper.

I have it, apparently

I have it, apparently. Mr Eastwood gave the watch to someone who had come in on time and under budget on some legal work. She kept it at home but she later passed away. I was gifted the watch by her son. At least this is what I have been told.

He wore it as early as 1993 in the movie In the Line of Fire.

I will post a photo as soon as I figure out how to do that. I'm not too good with anything that relates to computers. I'm wearing it now though.

Eastwood Watch Discussion

The computer is telling me I need 10 posts before I can post a link. I'm not sure how to upload a photo. Any advice would be appreciated.

Very cool. I was hoping for more rootbeer pix. I've got the modern iteration. Great watches both.

I've seen it in Firefox, a 1982 film. Great watch.

And there is a big scratch on the glass. I noticed that in the movie years ago.

He gifted it to Bradley Cooper on set of The Mule.

It's still unknown what reference the CE actually is. I'd love to know myself because I'd like one.

It's mostly like a 1675/3 from 1979-1980 but unconfirmed.

Hi there! A question regarding the reference, is it a 1675 or a 16753? If you don't want to take off the watch band to see the reference number at 12:00 on the case then a close up of the dial would solve the problem. The 1675 hand stack has the GMT hand on the bottom, while the 16753 has the hour hand at the bottom of the stack closest to the dial. Lovely watch and a great history!

The watch Epeterson is wearing has been serviced with dial replaced. It's hard to tell what reference it is at this point.

If it was Eastwood's and then Cooper's and then his it's been serviced which is a great shame if true.

Most likely Cooper still has the original CE.

You are correct. Didn't notice the large hour plots in my quick glance at that small pic.

Thank you all for the replies. They’re all very interesting and helpful. If anyone can point me to an article indicating that he gave the watch worn in his films to Bradley Cooper that would be great. I’ve seen articles that he gave Bradley Cooper a root beer gmt that is nick-named the Eastwood, but I think that is a special gift he sometimes gives to close friends he knows to be watch enthusiasts. The watch I have was never given to Bradley Cooper. I do t even think Bradley Cooper was famous yet when my watch was said to have been gifted by Mr Eastwood. In the end I wasn’t there when it happened. It was long ago in Los Angeles at an entertainment law firm and aside from the story I’ve heard I don’t know why the woman who received the watch would otherwise have it. She certainly didn’t wear it. Just kept it at home in a safe.

Have all root beer's with the larger plots had the dial replaced?

edit: searching through older threads here. It looks like later ('86-'87) 16753's mostly had the larger gold surround plots.
