I'm curious to see if there actually is a redesigned sub...and if so, where that will leave the current 16610...perhaps someone here can shed some insight?

I would like to see a Daytona II and/or movement improvement so I may still purchase one before it's priced out of my reach ... with the price increases as they have been.

It's interesting, and I'm sure it's not new news so I apologize if I'm out of touch, but Rolex seems like they are itching for changes...something new? They've been on the same road for so long and it's worked...but perhaps they're getting board? I dig it, but what are your thoughts?

AD told me in the short term the Daytona is definitely getting a bracelet update - hence some justification for the price incrdease (not too sure about that concept) To the experts out there.... Think that braccelet update will be the GMT IIc bracelet or the DSSD?
DSSD is a pretty sweet upgrade. Not sure the functionality is needed though on a Daytona so, my guess is the GMT IIc bracelet. What do you think? If this is a hijack on the basel 2010 thread - I apologize.

I think the DSSD bracelet should be on every watch...
The micro adjust clasp is just great! I use it quite often, sometimes your wrist swells a bit and its a GREAT feature! I do not think their main intention for the micro adjust clasp was a dive suit as they still have a dive extension....

I know that it will probably never happen!!
But I would love to see Rolex, produce a complication or even a Grand Complication watch.

X2! The Cellini collection could use an overhaul. Some complications for Rolex to consider: a perpetual calender, Power Reserve, minute repeater....the possibilites are endless.

Myself would like to see a totally new movement from Rolex and not a slightly modified base cal 3035 clone for most of the Rolex range.Afraid making a case a little larger and perhaps a few other minor cosmetic details in my book dont make a new watch or new movement.Perhaps a retro Daytona say in the style of the 6263 with the Cal 4130,and less bling watches. But bling is very high profit for Rolex, and now IMHO Rolex is straying away from there heritage routes.Everyone seems to ranting about ceramic this and that, but just fitting a ceramic insert IMHO dont make a completely new watch.Perhaps the ceramic bezel will perform as good or better than the older type who knows, only the next 50 odd years will tell.

So, does anyone expect a 41mm DJ in the next 1-2 years? So supposedly Rolex has the DD2 first and "milk" it's novelty as much as it can for 1-2 years and then make a 41mm DJ afterwards?
That would be interesting... |
