15400st to 15202st
Enjoying the 15400, but have an opportunity to pick one up so was considering the move.
Has anyone gone from a 15400 to a 15202 and if so, were they happy with the move - lack of screw down crown / running secs / less robust piece etc. how is it living with a 15202 vs a 15400? thanks for any tips |

I tried on the 15400 and I liked it but the 15202 felt sublime. Own it since 2014 and love it. It is not my daily beater, so cannot say how it will hold up in that regard.

Would be interresting to here from people done the switch. My 15400 is pretty much my workhorse piece for work. Im happy with it but upgrading is never a bad thing.

Saw both in real and the 202'looked and felt perfect, the 400 felt a litttle off to be honest, except if you have huge wrists the 202 is the one to get

I'd get the 15202 mostly for the thinness and movement. Also you will always have your money safe in that watch.
The 15400 in blue has a much better dial pop though. The 15202 is matte and kind of muted. |

I made that change and for me there wasn't a moment that I regretted it. That said, I have a 6.75" wrist so the 15202 was also a better size for me.

Quite happy with the 15400 and it's value. I'd rather just add a Reverso/Batman/etc to the collection, instead of paying the difference.
If I'm switchng AP watches, a ROO might be worth my while tho. |

I have a white dial 15400 and would like to eventually get a white dial Patek 5711 and an AP 15202.

I have a silver dial 15450 and looking to add 15202 to my collection in 2018/2019. Just need to make sure that it is a good fit on my flat 6.5 inch wrist.

Not having a seconds hand would bother me, I use my 15400 as a daily and have no regrets.

I had a 15300 and got the 15202 after. Rarely wore the 15300 afterwards.

I have owned neither of them but the 15202 would be my choice...wears so nice and it's link to the original makes it hard to pass on

I have and love the 15202 - the 15400 felt too big and tall on wrist.
Also, I think the 15202 will hold it's value better in the long run, so if you ever get tired of it (blasphemy), then you can use that as trade bait. |

Might even gain value in many years if ever they are discontinued, but don't know why they would do that considering it's the best model since the original one, 4 years ago I almost bought a mint 300 bkue dial, for 8.9k EUR, now they sell for 15.5-16k and got my new unworn from 2009 for 15.5k |

When its comes to 15202 steel and certainly in the UK they now very hard to come by new. I' had been informed by quite few AD's they can't even get hold of it anymore so I've had no choice but order one directly from Geneva Boutique and hope to get before the end of summer...So should def retain is value as there aren't many around. thanks everyone for the useful insights - very helpful
here's a side by side and a wrist shot from the try on i had today. the 2mm made a significant difference in the overall feel of the watch on the wrist along with the thinner case. In fact after having had the 15400 on the wrist for a year, it initially felt small - but it wears beautifully especially on my smaller wrist. incoming on the way shortly! |

Beautiful choice! I'll be pondering the same in the future. Like you I'm enjoying the 15400 in a white dial quite a bit right now.

If only AP made the 15400 in 39mm... The 41mm feels just a bit too big, and I like some big watches... It's probably due to seeing all that metal together vs a strap. I prefer 15202 if having to choose.
