Icon14 Look like all the Daytona with the 5 Digit Reference gaining value.....

You proud owner, and especially to the original owner....

Look like all the Daytona with the 5 Digit Reference gaining value... SS, TT, & PM......

Yes, even the TT.......

Just check some of the old price list per year & compare to the preowned of the same year.....

For example.....

In 1994 you could buy a brand new....

SS Daytona for retail @ $4,000 with 1 year waiting list or gray market @ $5,000-$5,500

TT Daytona for retail @ $7,000

PM Daytona for retail @ $18,000

VS

Same year preowned today for a ok to mint condition......

SS Daytona with out paper @ $12,000 plus or $15,000 plus with box & paper....

TT Daytona with out paper @ $8,000 or under $10,000 with box & paper...

PM Daytona with out paper @ $18,000 to $20,000 or $25,000 to $28,000 with box & paper......

another example......

Final year for the 5 Digit Reference brand new in 1999....

SS Daytona for retail @ $5,100 with 2 year waiting list or gray market @ $6,500-$7,500

TT Daytona for retail @ $9,050

PM Daytona for retail @ $20,195

VS

Same year preowned today for a ok to mint condition......

SS Daytona with out paper @ $14,000 plus or $17,000 plus with box & paper....

TT Daytona around $9,000 to $11,000 with box & paper...

PM Daytona around $20,000 to $25,000 with box & paper......

Notice: My source maybe different form your so don't flame me.........

Now for the fun, post some pictures of your beloved Daytona 5 Digit Reference SS, TT, and PM......

The TT Daytona's seem to be the best buy right now for what you get.

Good review of market conditions, but I wish you would have waited until I cornered the market....

That's 23 years ago... what's your point? Gas was around $0.79/gallon here. I could get a McDonald's hamburger for $0.29. Beepers were the shit. 30" 4:3 televisions that weighed 150 lbs meant you were rich.

My computer cost $3000 and had a 233 MHz CPU, 32MB of RAM, with 12 GB hard drive.

My point is the Daytona 5 digit reference appreciation in value unlike all those thing you mention become junk and have no value.......^^^..

If you taking about rate of inflation.... That is the price of enjoying thing.... At least it not become junk or a heavy paper weight.....

A mint to near mint Daytona 16520 with box & paper is cost as much or more than a Daytona 116500LN......

A TT 16523 cost almost the same or for 1k more you could get a preowned 116523....

A PM 16528 cost almost the same or more than a perowned 116528.....

There is no doubt that the 5 digit Daytonas prices are on the rise. Especially in the last 6 months! Even trying to find mint examples is getting harder and harder to find. This is going to be the next Daytona reference to explode IMO

Thanks!

As for finding mint or NOS ones - they are getting very very hard to find! Prices for NOS are mid $20's now. Mint 100% complete ones in $20k range now. Just keep hunting and hopefully you find!

Hard to believe that a little over a year ago, full set 16520s could be found for about 10K.

Mine was purchased new back in '98. It's gone through a few mods since...

TT Daytona prices seem to be creeping up. Might be a good buy too given it's now a lot less $ and available particularly in the 2016 line up. Just check out Davids site.

No doubt about it.....

Take your pick 5 or 6 digit reference for about the same price.....

IMHO 5 digit would be a better choice because the price is starting to creep up & it getting rare in the future.....
