Lets trade watches for awhile!!!!!

Just had a nutty? idea. Wouldn't it be fun to try out another watch for awhile? We could set a limit, like a month. Strictly between TRF members, we could offer our watches to temporarily trade with another member, then we could see how we like a different Rolex, without committing. Anyone have the guts to try it? The only cost would be shipping and insurance.

Similiar to a thought I had about timesharing watches.

Think about it. You get a group of say 12 guys. Each guy puts in $8,000. With the $96,000 you buy 12 watches. Every month you trade watches. For the really popular models, ie steel Daytona, but 2 or 3.

I was thinking about this a while ago as well. I'd consider it if the member had excellent references.

Sounds darn good to me if you get a good group of guys together.
Id be in for sure...
Every so often the group could get something else to throw into the pool, you would just have to have an established buy out policy set up but if anyone is up for it let me know and count me in.
They do this with exotic cars and jets now so why not some nice watches?

You'd have to set-it up as a corporation with those entering in as equal shareholders. Annual dues for insurance.

And those pesky maintenance dues, split up amongst the stakeholders. Airplane owners do this all the time, but with only one airplane usually.

a nice concept but what happens when 3 of you want the daytona or other peice for a certain event?

And in the end who gets the daytona as opposed to the Sub considering they have all paid they same amount of money?

this is a much better set up but very detailed rules need to be set up and at anytime one should have have a watch that is more than what that person put in.

It would have to work like NetFlix or any of the high end car clubs.
Everyone puts in a request and its done in rotation, you can only keep
any given piece for a set amount of time that way everyone gets to enjoy
and if you were last for the Daytona rotation youd be first for the next one
everyone wants....
I really don't think it would be that hard to put together (other than the legal
papers as I am not a lawyer I have no clue about it) but it could be done...
It would have to be in one country only as shipping out of the US would
just get into too many headaches with customs etc

I still sleep with mine on... I don't think I'd let anybody else wear it. It was pushing it when a couple people asked me if they could just hold it.
