SD Question

Guys , I am looking into getting either the SD or the Sub No Date. However I have smaller wrist (6.5') and was wondering if there are any SD owners out there with similar wrist (6.5') who could comment on the comfort of wearing the SD.

I understand that the SD is a little top heavy... is that a problem on smaller wrists?

Thanks.

Well speaking for myself had a great Diving buddy I met in Sharm Egypt in the late 90s And often dived with her on the many expeditions down south Red Sea she was quite petite and wore a SD.Myself never found any difference on the wrist Sub or SD or many other watches. But try both on if you can there is not a huge difference between the two watches IMHO on the wrist.

Hey cx007, no problems with a 6.5" wrist. I have the same size wrist and my SD wears perfectly.

cx, my wrist is exactly 6.5" and I wear a 16600 daily. It fits very well and very comfortable. You will have to remove a permanent link on the 6:00 side to get the clasp properly positioned on your wrist, but that is easy, and I can walk you through it. It will take ten minutes. I have owned two Submariner Dates as well as a GMT Pepsi, and the SD fits the best of all of them, without question. I was attending a get together over this past weekend, at which I time I tried on a friend's GMT as well as another's Sub. They both felt very light (not in a good way) when compared to the SD. I am used to it now, and would have a hard time going back to a lighter watch. I have worn this piece in sea water, fresh water, sailing, fishing, swimming, diving, hunting, yard work, climbing, and anything else I could throw at it, and it has never disappointed me. With the bracelet adjustment, it fits me better than either of my Submariners ever did. Hope this helps.

You removed the link your self???

Could you please show me the pictures of what the end result looks like... and how to do it? Thanks.

I didn't have to remove any permanent links with my SD and it still fits snuggly. Just had to adjust the post on the clasp.

If you have to remove a link very easy to do just a good screwdriver with the correct blade size for the screw.

I have a dissenting opinion. I also have a small wrist, and my SD is a bit top heavy. I actually like the fit of my Subs better. The SD is not uncomfortable (I am wearing it today), but just NOT as comfortable as a Sub. Subs sit flatter on the wrist.

I have a 6.8 in wrist and wear a SD or a DSSD just depends on the day.
I find myself wearing the DSSD more and more

I have a 6.5 wrist and find my Sub Date very comfortable and proportionate to my wrist size. I would not wear over 40mm.

You will have no problems with your wrist size. Here is my Sea Dweller on my 6.5" wrist

as long as you adjust the bracelet properly, you'll love it. I thought it was going to be top heavy but after actually wearing it, I love that extra weight giving the watch a solid feeling to it.
I love it. wearing it right now.

Generally speaking, the SD is going to be a bit more sloppy on the wrist than a Sub, either way you are picking up a great piece! Good luck,
