Thanks. Those are just a small part of the collection, but they are very special to me. The polar bear and his family, and then the Lion with the lion cubs. One day I will give one to each of the kids.

Thanks. The Faberge eggs are incredibly special, everything on there is a natural stone (they only use internally flawless diamonds, unlike Rolex) or metal, no fabricated parts, they are all hand-made and hand-sculpted, even the Polar Bear and Lions are done by hand out of 18kt Gold. Each egg takes weeks and weeks to make, and the way they do the glass enamel (17 layers) on the outside is just remarkable. Now they are made in Germany, and the German workmanship is evident through everything they do.

On the polar bear:
Made of 18kt white gold covered with multiple layers of turquoise fire enamel on a guilloche ground. Crowned with a facetted white topaz and adored with ice crystals of white gold. The opener is in form of an ice crystal and set with diamonds. The bears are 18kt white gold sitting on an ice floe of sardonyx. The pedestal is made of frosted rock crystal on a base of polished rock crystal with golden feet.

It was a lot to type but here goes...

The lion is considered the king of beasts. Faberge has now created a majestic monument to this fabulous creature. The Lion Egg bears the insignia of power and strength: The crown and - as fastener - the lily as a symbol of sovereignty. The crown is decorated with red enamel, hand engraved and also displays a lily motif. The coronation of this intricate work of are is a diamond of 0.10 carat, set with the tip upwards. The lily shaped fastener is in white gold, set with diamonds. A unique aspect is the spring lid. This opens with light pressure on the lily-shaped fastener, revealing a glorious scene. A lion family with playing cubs. The lions are modeled from 18kt gold, the mane of the father lion is enameled, shimmering in brown. The work of art rests upon a base of Kalahari jasper. The body of the egg is hand guilloched and coated with translucent enamel. The elegant, malva color of the enamel is extremely unusual and lends the work of art a particularly sophisticated radiance.

Wow those are nice Eggs!!

If you don't mind me asking what kind of price point am I looking at if I wanted to buy one of those eggs for my wife?Do they still make them?

Unfortunately this past Summer, Faberge has discontinued producing these eggs. They will only be making one large egg per year, which will be auctioned starting at $1 million. I don't know why after all of their history they would decide to do this, but they are now moving more in to jewelry, and let me tell you, some of their stuff is fantastic. I have had a chance to see some of their watches and they easily rival Patek (in price, too, unfortunately ). MSRP on those particular eggs was around $40,000 each, but they are all sold out and will now be impossible to find... and their value continues to skyrocket.

OH MY GOD! I had no idea about these "EGGs"...its so odd to call such MAGNIFICENT pieces of jewellery and handicraft 'eggs'!...they should have some amazing amazing name like "super-elegant-out-of-this-world-royal-EGGS" :)...but honestly what things they are...after reading about how they are made, I am not stunned they cost a fortune :)


the platty DD is stunning...must catch a lot of attention when reflecting light and shining like a star ;)

I sure sound crazy after seeing such workmanship and dedication to detail in those eggs!

Those particular eggs were purchased from Brinkhaus, yes

They did have a Faberge show at Brinkhaus a couple of months ago in both Vancouver, and Calgary. Some phenomenal stuff, but the egg objects are no longer available.

I received it in May 2006, after ordering in December 2005 MRSP at the time was $125,000 CAD

As for the eggs, as they are obsolete now, they are fetching a premium. So these particular ones would probably reach at least $60,000 CAD each.
