16750 with 3,xxx,xxx serial number?

I'm hoping to get some clarification on this GMT Master. I was told by the auction house that the serial number is 35219xx. That would put the model year at 1973 which my understanding would be a 1675. However, the hand stack is Hour/GMT/Minute/Second which would be a 16750.

Can anyone please shed some light on this for me?

I am no expert but the dial does not look like a 1675.

16750 serial # started at 61xxxx

So, they have the serial # wrong, or it's a frankenwatch...

I don't think any 1675 dial had the white gold surround on indices but I could be wrong..

Thanks for the quick replies. Only thing I can think is perhaps it starts with an 8 and they read it as a 3? Otherwise, likely a frankenwatch as previously mentioned.

Serial 85219xx would be perfect for the no date WG gloss dial so hopefully they just read it wrong.

My guess is it is an 8 not a 3.

Good luck, auction house that usually has lesser pieces, hopefully mislabeled serial, and maybe you won't have much competition.

It was an 8 and I'm the new proud owner! Next up - full service.
