1984 Heuer Autavia 11063V Cal. 12
The automatic Heuer Autavias had quite the run, spanning two decades with numerous now classic variants from F1 sponsorships to special diving and military variants. The model evolved mechanically with the switch from the caliber 11 to the caliber 12, in materials by moving from acrylic to glass crystals, and stylistically with various dial, bezel, and case design and construction.
What we have here is the last variant of the Cal. 12 Autavias, the 11063V. The 11063 is unique in the range with a larger case design with a slightly larger lug width and deeper angles to the lugs. The bezel design has larger and thicker fluted edges, and is the first Autavia to have a unidirectional bezel. This 11063V is a very nice example of a classic sporty tool watch that's ready to take just about anything you can throw at it, and it's entirely original except for a newly fitted crystal and gasket. Condition is as follows: Case: 42mm stainless steel case in very good vintage condition. The radial brushing on the case top is still present as are the polished case chamfers. There is wear commensurate with wear throughout the case with minor scratches, nicks, and dings throughout but no major marks. Bezel: Steel outer bezel is original and very good condition with a firm click action. Insert is original and in excellent condition as pictured. Dial/Hands: Original black dial with polished steel markers with white inserts. The tritium has aged to a creamy even patina. Hands are original brushed stainless steel with red accents and narrow tritium portions with matching patina. The dial is free of any staining or spotting. Caseback: Excellent condition solid stainless steel screw caseback. Crystal: Newly fitted OEM-spec mineral crystal (and gasket) free from any scratching. Movement: Heuer caliber 12 automatic chronograph movement with all functions working correctly including start, stop, and reset to zero of the chronograph. The movement keeps excellent time. Service history is unknown. Bracelet/Strap: Like new brown vintage style leather strap with SS buckle. Accessories: None, sold as watch only. Price is $3100 shipped insured FedEx overnight CONUS via PayPal or wire (3% discount for wire). US sale preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face to face in the Boston area also welcome. I have many references available. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking! |
