Sd 116600 to dj 41 126334?

Hi everyone
This may be a mad thought but wanted to get some honest opinions.
An opportunity has come up where I could trade my 2014 Seadweller 4000 116600 for a brand new 2017 fully stickered stainless steel Datejust 41 white stick dial with jubilee bracelet. Being a one watch guy I've always had a thing for Datejusts but dunno whether I would be a fool to let the Seadweller go. Also I don't know whether the diver look has got a bit stale for me now as I was wearing a no date sub before purchasing the SD4K.

Let me know what ya think

Cheers

Someone was selling me the same datejust 41 brand new from 2017, fully stickered for 6,400$. Don't make that trade! You're better off selling your SD4000 and then buying the datejust. You'll end up With a couple of thousands in your pocket.

Don't flip...add the DJ. (Which is a sweet watch, IMO)

I know you said you're a one watch guy, but anything is going to look stale after a while if you don't have something to switch it up with.

Would you consider the Datejust 41 to be an inferior model or would you say its on par with the Sports range. I know it has the new 3235 movement inside which looks superb features wise. I also really like the jubilee bracelet but I am worried about potential stretch in the future whereas the oyster bracelet on the Seadweller is solid as a tank!

I'd keep the SD and add the DJ later, also you didn't mention if it was a DJ with Fluted WG bezel or smooth.

The New Jubilee bracelet has solid links so they're not supposed to stretch like the old ones.

Absolutely on par...the new movement is spectacular. The jubilee is a solid piece as well...no worries there.

Still think you're better off adding then flipping, however.

This is a "hard no" from me. The DJ is nice enough, but it's like trading a 911R for a four door Mercedes.

I think this is the wrong crowd to ask most just love SS Rolex so whatever you say will get you at least 80% of disapproving votes :) go with what you like, the DJ looks better on some people but it's all up to you. Although if you are talking about money then yea SD holds well it's value .

That DJ is a really really beautiful reference and I'd love to have one...

But if I had to let the SD 116600 go to get it...Absolutely NO WAY.

No Sir, add the DJ, and you'll have a killer duo...but NO TRADE.

Don't do it! Not for a DJ41.

Give it time, those DJ41 will drop in $. Your 116600 will not!

He'd probably can get the DJ at a 15-20% discount so that would offset depreciation costs I doubt the watch would depreciate more than that

For me it is not about which watch I prefer it would be about the values of the watches in the deal. The deal is way off number wise in favor of the seller. I would not do it.

I agree, fully

If it's at all practical add the DJ41, the two would make for a great pair

I can understand having Diver fatigue, happened to me last year so I bought something else which was the YM, but now looking at Divers again.
