Rolex Service in Boston??

I did a quick search and couldnt find too much. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with servicing their Rolex in the Boston area. I know there are AD's in the area, but I was looking for other options such as independent shops. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Not sure of any independents that use Rolex-certified technicians....

I live in the Boston-metro area, and service all my Rolex watches with RSC.

I hear ya. The person who im asking for doesn't really care too much about having everything done at the RSC etc so I was seeing if there was someone in the area who had a parts account with Rolex.

No problem - I do wish there were more options locally.

Well, in that case may want to try the watchmaker at European Watch Co. on Newbury St. He doesn't have a parts account from what I recollect but has a good basic understanding of Rolex movements from what I could tell. If it were me, I would ship off to Dallas RSC regardless of where I'm located.

Longs in Burlington to the north has a Rolex trained tech on staff. He did a great job on my wife's DJ, just routine service. He does it right there.

I've also used "The Watchmaker" in Stoneham MA. Very nice guys and they seem very knowledgeable. I have used them to help verify authenticity a few times. I believe they have a parts account.

Long's does factory authorized service and provides full warranty; my experience with the Watchmaker is only fair and they are very over priced. There is q guy in the Gem building that is really excellent. He doesn't like to advertise so I sent information back channel; he did a great job on my 1803.

In my personal experience with Longs, I would prefer to send any repairs direct to the manufacturer.

Longs did a great job on my 14060. What happened in you service.

It was with a different brand, not Rolex - requiring a simple battery change on a quart watch. I initially wanted to send to manufacturer; however, Longs represented their technicians could service the watch. Whatever they did in the process of changing the battery, the date operation no longer worked properly when returned. Ultimately, Longs had to send the watch to the manufacturer for a proper service and the additional repair of the date. Longs did pick up the cost of the repair, but I consider it a lesson learned going forward.

Just call all the local ADs and ask if they have a) a CW21 certified watchmaker and b) a Rolex parts account. If yes, then worth a shot however the warranty on the work will ONLY be valid at that AD. You're SOL if they close down. RSC warrantied work is good pretty much anywhere.
