Haze on cyclops eye

My wife has a Date Just. She was looking at the Cyclops eye and it looked hazy. I ran my finger over it and it did not feel scratched. I looked at it with a magnifying glass. It looks like something smudged it but it does not rub off with watch/crystal cleaning cloth. My question is, is their an anti reflective coating on it and is it possible it may be rubbing off some how. If it is scratched or damaged can it be polished off.

Glue underneath the cyclops has become compromised. Take it to rsc.

Thank you for the reply. When I looked at it with a magnifying glass it looked to be on the surface. I will look at it again when my wife gets home.

The cyclops might just be full of micro scratches. The best option would be to replace the cyclops.

Search the word smudge - you should see a thread called smudge on cyclops. If that's your issue, then it's a new crystalas rolex don't just repair/change the cyclops any more. Is about gbp130 or so.

Thank You. Very helpful. That is exactly what it looks like. Looks like we will go to our Rolex AD to have them look at it and possibly send it back.

I got mine fixed purely because I was having it serviced but it was only noticable in the correct light/angle. Your wife may find she can live with it until service time. Would save losing the watch for a period of time.

Mask up all but the cyclops and try some very fine compound or diamond paste.
