Fans of Ceasar!!! Where are You???

Ceasar salad that is. Traditional. Made tableside. Not kitchen made. No bottles or cans. No reimagined presentation. Just made in front of you by talented wait staff.

For years my wife and I have enjoyed regular evenings out including diner at a number of our favorite steak and seafood spots. During this time, one by one, this fabulous salad has dissappeared from menus or moved to the kitchen with horrible results or even worse made with mass produced gue.
It's hard to believe that in a city of more than 6 million people we're down to one place where the owner refuses to let tradition die. The cart, the big wooden bowl ...... let the magic begin.

If you're a fan of tableside created ceasar salad please tell me where you find it in your area. If you like ceasar salad but have never had one made like this then do yourself a favor and try finding one at a place near you. If they do it right you'll always be happy you did.

Huge fan. Sadly, I haven't seen tableside creations in a super long time.

But I love ceaser salad.

The Marine Room in La Jolla makes table side Caesars Salad. They are famous for it. It is a pricey and popular local seafood (and steak) restaurant.

Agree 100%. I haven't seen it prepared tableside in a long time, unfortunately. I will admit that I do enjoy anchovies on mine as well.

When I was a kid, we used to go to steak houses for proper CSalad.

But, today, thank your local health dept and allergists for the lack of table preps.

Real CSalad requires raw egg, since everyone's allergic to everything, this must be prepared in a good food safe area AND, by a good food safety handling trained staff member.

Longer story short, good luck finding a real CSalad prepped table-side -- in the USA or other markets with heavy and health office influence.

I love me an ol school Steak joint that does the Caesar salad at the table!

It's seems it's becoming harder and harder to find in a world filled with pre-prepped foods.

I am guessing health and safety has something to do with it dying out.

At least that's what I would put it down to here in the U.K. Not sure how strict it is over there.

This kind of traditional cooking is easier to find in less litigious countries.

Still doing it table side at Peter's fine dining in Markham just outside of Toronto. They do so many they can have 2 or 3 guys going at once and the older guys love trash talking the younger guys working adjacent tables. Great old place there.

I'd love to hear someone from the industry chime in as to whether they're now so scarce due to code changes, product changes, or lack of interest.
