Finally! Got one!

No, not a new Rolex. Still waiting on my AD to call.

But, I did score one of these beauties! Found it hiding in a random convenience / liquor store along the highway a few miles from my house. Had never been in there before (kind of a sketchy looking place), but was told by multiple credible sources they have the best breakfast burritos known to man, so it became a must-stop destination. After buying my burrito I decided to check out the whiskey selection, because you just never know what new (or old) friend might be waiting for you. My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw it sitting there. Been looking for a bottle of this for over a year now. Tasted it (along with all the Pappy's) at SF WhiskeyFest last year and believe it or not, the 10 yr was my favorite out of all of them. Happy to report it's just as delicious as I remember it.

Cheers everyone!

Didn't buy a lotto ticket, though I probably should have, considering I found one of these today.

lol 10 year rip is one of my favorites with the 15 year pappy being my all time favorite of the van winkle line.

William larue weller has to be the best wheater on the market and I would gladly grab one of those bottles over any of the van winkle line, I just love the high proof offerings =).

whatever you do don't do what I do and drink it too fast once I open one of my good bottles 2-3 weeks and I am usually searching for the next one =)

Congrats!

I'm wondering what the OP paid. Hopefully it was reasonable and not the crazy markups so commonly seen.

Thanks! I paid MSRP. Confirmed that with the lady over the phone before I rode up there. Although add Bay Area sales tax and it just about doubles the price.

Btw, after we filled out all the paperwork and everything my sales lady told me the guy who usually handles brand new watches like this one was out that day and that he *probably* had someone in mind / had his own list, but after talking with me on Tues she knew how excited I was about it, so called me instead of waiting to hear from him if it was ok. I gave her a huge hug after she told me that!

My son went to Scotland last year and brought back a bottle of Scotch for me. I opened it and poured myself a finger of it one night and just about coughed when I took a sip. It is 100 proof!

The WLW I drink regularly is 130-135 proof!
I still think it has the absolute best flavor of any of the bourbons I have ever had
