Advice on 16710
Hi all,
Any advice welcome. I currently have a BNIB Air-King that I've never worn. I absolutely love the watch but bizarrely I've just never felt the desire to wear it, choosing my BLNR instead. Recently I've been looking at older GMTs and I've spotted an absolutely mint GMT2 16710. It's a 2000 year with the lug holes and comes with absolutely everything - box, papers, tags, manuals, the lot. It also has black bezel plus unopened Pepsi bezel and Coke bezel. My idea is to trade the Air-King and I'd have to contribute. Any opinions on the GMT and trading Air-King welcome. The idea of trading a brand new watch for a 2000 model scares me a bit. However maybe I just need a nudge in the right direction. Cheers Nairn |

Do it! If you don’t like it, you can always continue flipping

Go for it. 16710 is a modern classic. If it's mint with papers and all the bezels then it's a great find. Mines a lug hole model from 2003. Much prefer this to the concealed lugs version.

Lovely, when did you get yours? Price from dealer just over £6k which seems reasonable considering it's full package with all 3 bezel inserts.

I would do it. As said the GMT II is a modern classic with prices appreciating year on year. With the option to change inserts...you have three watches.
I have a brand new z serial with two additional packaged inserts. I have no idea what it would be worth today. |

If the AK hasn't made it onto your wrist then might as well, shame as you were one of its strongest supporters here.

I would certainly get it. When I bought mine I had never purchased a used Rolex before so like you I was a little apprehensive. I have never regretted it.

I would certainly do it if you are not wearing the AK. The old gmt's are great and sounds like you will get a mint one with all the inserts. Sounds good to me

The GMT seems to be an A serial 2000, but seems to be lacking SEL. Is this normal? And is an SEL model a better bet? |

6K is a good price for a good condition 16710 with box and papers and 2 extra inserts as a bonus. You know it makes sense |

If you have Facebook, have a look. It's Jopsons jewellers in Carlisle and they have a video on it. Jopsons were a Rolex AD until a few years back.
Looks lovely to be fair although non-sel...my preference would be SEL probably but not a deal breaker. |

Do it. No doubt. GMT is more much presence than the AK. You'll never regret it.

Advice on 16710
How could u say no to this? Btw. It's one of the hottest Rolex right now.
I blame it on the autoconnect. |

I'd hate to say not to buy it, but you may be a one watch guy with the BLNR. Nothing wrong with that...
