Bought my first Rolex today!
Just picked up my first Rolex. It is a 1979 Ref 1550. Was a service award to an employee of some company. Came with original box (including cardboard box), owners manual with previous owners name, original tags, original band as well (not in good shape). I have an Army green nato on the way for it, this is temp.
Anyway, here it is. Got it at a steal of a price and already feel guilty owning it. LOL. |

Massive congratulations on your first Rolex! That's a really charming first piece and a complete one at that. Enjoy it in the best of health.

Congrats! 1550 is a gold-shell case model. Does it still look kind of gold or has the gold all worn off at this point? It really is a good time to buy 1500-series models. Nowadays they're cheaper than 6694's it seems like.

Thanks all. Pretty excited to get this. Felt a little sick to my stomach about it at first but now
I am settling in. The gold cap is in perfect condition. It appears it was service in Dec 2016. I really couldn't be happier. It's smaller than I'm used to but it was a quick adjustment. |

Looks pretty great congrats, I personally would find a nicer leather strap for it and wear the hell out of it!

Well done. The smaller Oysters are so comfortable to wear and that one looks great on your strap.
