List of all barked Rolex models

Here I will attempt to break down every model of barked Rolex ever made. If I've forgotten one, please let me know. Pics from various internet sources.

NON-QUICKSET (debuted in mid-1960's)
1807
1807 with reverse-barked bracelet (outer links barked instead of inner link)
1807 in white gold

SINGLE-QUICKSET (debuted in late 1970's)
18048 (engine turned + barked bezel. Shown with onyx dial)
18078 (standard barked bezel. Shown with sandstone dial)
18079 (standard barked bezel. White gold model)
18108 (Barked bezel with 12 diamonds. Here's one with a rare dial)
18308 (Barked bezel with 12 diamonds. I'm unsure of the difference between 18308 and 18108)
18348 (Full diamond bezel)

DOUBLE-QUICKSET (debuted in late 1980's)
18248 (engine turned + barked bezel. Shown with wood dial)
18249 (engine turned + barked bezel. White gold model)

DATEJUSTS (Check out those barked jubilee bracelets!)
1607
1607 in rose gold (The only barked rose gold Rolex)
16078 (Shown with houndstooth dial)
16248
6927 (26mm ladies' model)
69278 (26mm ladies' model, shown with tiger-eye dial)
Ladies' Pearlmasters also exist in barked versions. Anybody know the model number of that one?

MISC.
5100 (This rare early Rolex quartz model was available barked)
1511 (The only 34mm barked Rolex)
1807 with Morellis Finish (This isn't actually barked, but sometimes people mistakenly call it that)
Prototype white gold Submariner Date (Bracelet is barked. The watch shown went for $600k+ at auction. There are only 3 prototypes like this according to Hodinkee)

Thank you this is very cool. I love the barked bezels and bracelets, not so easy to find.

I have a beautiful barked 1970's 1550 that is different from the above watches, but I'm a new member and can't post pictures until I have 10 posts.

I was at a knee doctor's office one day and the client ahead of me in line to schedule next appointment had a Barked DD -AND- aftermarket bark treatment on the brushed areas similar to that shown above. I was too speechless to say anything.

Wow! Never seen this type of finish on any watch before.

Incredible, thanks for sharing.

If only Rolex would re concider this for Basel 18....

Thanks for this compilation!

Noticed that some bezel are completely barked while some seems to have "indices" intervals. In your post, it is 18078 vs. 18248. I have also seen 18078s with the "interval barked" bezels.

Can you enlighten on this?

Thanks!

The "interval barked" is 18048 and 18248 I believe. I wonder if 18048's are mislabeled because people just Google barked Rolex? Or replaced part? The whole point of the second-to-last digit is to denote bezel type, but I suppose anything is possible with Rolex. I'd assume mistake/replacement unless I see one with clear original papers

Which do you prefer? It seems like all the bark double quick set are in ‘interval barked” style?

Correct, there is no 18278. I think I prefer the regular barking but they're both cool

Thanks David! I was aware of the diamond 18048's but thought they might've used it the reference for other bezels too (like the sapphire 18048). I guess I've seen a lot of mislabeled or bezel-swapped 18048's online, but if I limit the search to the well-known auction houses sure enough, all diamonds.

I can't edit the post anymore but if a mod could remove the 18048 from the list that'd be cool. And also the 5100 (I believe Barkmaster thinks that's aftermarket last I talked to him)

Hi no such thing as a sapphire 18048 in the official catalogue ??

The 18000 series presidents were the most varied

A sapphire bezel came in two forms with unique reference numbers

They came in emerald and ruby versions also with 44 stone bezels. Again with unique reference numbers .

In the 18000 series day dates you could also get a 24 larger baguette stone bezel in all the stones aforementioned with again unique reference numbers. See below

As above the first combination stone bezel was available also in the 18000 series, what we now call rainbow bezels like the Daytona a yachtmaster with emerald, ruby and Sapphire.

In the later 18200 day date series you mention the 18348 as a bark model correct but it was available in a non bark version also.

Here are a few more bark models you missed.

The link to 18249 (WG DD) shows a 18248, but Rob can’t edit it any longer, .. so, here’s a 18249 - I’m guessing these were not popular because white gold under-the-radar guys didn’t want the sparkly bling of bark, and vice versa. I love it.

While I’m here, does anyone have a photo of this bezel? I assume it was a 18178.

Interesting - The bezel looks right, but I wonder whether that brick bracelet was custom work. It doesn’t look like Rolex’s other ‘barking,’ but I’m not sure I’ve seen another barked-brick. (I do have a Florentine brick, and on it, the decoration on the bracelet matches the bezel more closely.) Do you have any other barked brick bracelets (or images) to compare?

I also wonder if the bracelet is original. I know they made a brick bracelet with the "chute" texture for the 1508 but I don't think I've seen another barked one. This 1601's brick bracelet looks barked but it's listed as Morellis.

1023 has a "Paille" bezel translates to "straw" in English

Have come across this beauty:
Oysterquartz Day Date 19018 barked bezel.

But is it real?
