Tudor Heritage Chrono v Tudor Black Bay Chrono
Forgive me if this has been asked before but I want to weight the merits of the Tudor Heritage Chrono (I like the grey) against the new Black Bay Chrono.
Which do you prefer and why?

I like the THC better for looks, and love the retro styling that is pretty close to the 1970s version (if you add a cyclops) that was produced but never sold in stores. Mine has been my most accurate and reliable timekeeper over the last three years, so I can't fault the 2892 and DD module combo. The 12 hr bezel is really useful, too.

I think looks-wise I prefer the Heritage Chrono, but having worn it I found myself not liking it. Due to the add-on chrono module, it's a particularly thick piece I didn't find comfortable. Therefore, I'm inclined to say that I'd prefer the BB Chrono, though to be fair I haven't seen it in person as of yet.

For me I'm not so much of a fan of watches trying to emulate an older style like the Heritage Chrono does. I'd be much more impressed by having an original instead of a cloned version. I also find the Heritage Chrono style to be a bit on the disjointed cartoonish side. Obviously there are many here who love them. I must also admit to falling in love and owning the THBBR which is also an homage watch specifically designed to reproduce the bezel coloring of an aged Tudor. I must add that I fell in love with the BBR long before I knew of its origins.
That said, the THBB Chrono to me represents a non-comic book approach to making a great value chrono for Tudor. Here's a nice Fratello review on the model. https://www.fratellowatches.com/tudo...ck-bay-chrono/ But what do I know. I own and am quite happy with my Tudor GranTour Chrono. This is a watch that has been almost totally dismissed by members of the forum for its lack of rotatable bezel making it only useful in a single time zone. |

I really like the THC, and get past the snowflake hand on the new chrono. Seems a mishmash of styles, and not appropriate hands for accurate reading on a chrono. More likely to block the sundials, as well.

Thank you everyone for the comments. Having seen the grey Heritage Chrono in the flesh yesterday I find it a beautiful watch but a little too busy for my wrist. The BB Chrono is beautiful but I can't get past the snowflake hand which seems out of place on a Chrono and the concept of a Chrono function in a diving watch.
