HELP! Complete set VS non-complete RED SUB
Hi Guys,
Need help on a possible trade. I own this 1680 Mark VI Red Sub, just the watch no box nor papers. I`ve been offered to trade it for a Mark V with the complete set! I`ve seen the paper and all is matching. What do you guys think? Whats the premium that the complete set command? Thanks for any thoughts. This is my watch:   This is the complete Set:

I am a huge fan of B/P but in this case why trade ? To me, vintage nitwit, your watch looks much nicer than the one in the set. A box, anchor and the booklets can be found online. New papers can be obtained via a fresh RSC service. Your watch certainly looks beautiful

I too am a fan of B&P (within reason) but mostly the box which you can easily source. Therefore just looking at the watches, yours has much more going for it (and it's a gorgeous piece btw). Better/matching patina. Dial appears to be "cleaner" (the other one has bubbling?). And your case is in overall better condition; less "sleeve polish" and sharper. Just my thoughts.

Case on the other one looks nicer to me but the damaged dial would be a dealbreaker.

Most the value in the "full set" will be the warranty paper with the serial number (as everyone else mentioned all other pieces can be separately sourced). Also a premium on "punched paper" over hand written. I'm guessing your example is handwritten.
Taking that into consideration + the damaged dial, I would expect that the value between the two examples may be more closer than apart from either other. Its not worth the headache down the road trying to sell the full set with that dial on it. You're going to get haggled down with that dial...people that want full sets are going to be more discerning on condition. BTW - where is the bracelet and it's condition on the "full set?" I would pass without regret. |

If that outer box is a USA BUfkor, gold bottom, green top, the inner box is not correct. Additionally, the Bufkor box is not correct for that set either.
As far as trade, keep what you have. The other watch has dial issues.

keep yours - unless you find one in same condition and 100% gurranteed that the papers and items it came with 'from birth', don't swap

No experience with vintage, but I think I'd keep what you have.
Yours look to be in much nicer condition.
