Professional Brushing PCLs in the UK (Now with Pic!)
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a professional brushing service located in the UK for brushing the PCLs of new new Daytona? Love it to bits, but cannot stand the PCLs. Will likely add a RubberB but brushing the PCLs would also be a good option for me. The beaut: Feel free to PM me with replies. |

Imho looks a bit odd with the polished case.
Good luck though

I think brushed PCLs on a GMT looks awesome due to brushed lugs. But Daytona has polished lugs so brushing the PCLs may look off. Unless you are getting the lugs brushed too?

Not sure how good it would look on a daytona but looking forward to seeing the results.

It's been done...see link attached. OP had the lugs brushed as well to make sure it was all uniform...

I generally dislike PCLs (they strike me as neither here nor there; brushed Oyster works or polished Jubilee) but I agree that the DaytonaC was designed with them in mind, not quite an afterthought like those on the GMT.

You do you but i personally wouldn't do it. RubberB would be a nice touch though.

I did mine myself. Really not that difficult to do as long as you use the proper paper

Looks good from the pics. I guess you left the lugs alone.

I did two watches centres only and both turned out nicely. The real test is in bright sun light and how the texture looks on the centres vs outsides. The 3M paper replicates the grain exactly unlike other methods.

If you just wanted the bracelet done send it to Rocco at Bristol Watchworks he did my custom Sub.
Or if you wanted the lugs done send it to LA Watchworks. I've used both and their work has been perfect but my preference for more specialist work would be LA as they have more experience with custom stuff. |

Plus, only use RSC to service my watches so wouldn't want any mess with them. |

I find the lugs on the Daytona so narrow and height so low that it looks balanced. I have a Milgauss and didn't polish the centres as the lugs are large watch sits higher and I agree with you it would look off.

Thanks everyone for the tips and views.
Also struggling a little due to the polished lugs and if I was in the US I woild for sure go to LA Watchworks and have bracelet and lugs polished. Anyway, will probably start with RubberB and continue to sit on the fence with the bracelet! Thanks again to all who have contributed! |

I know it's an expensive option but I would be inclined to look for a second hand (or even new) bracelet and switch them up. I don't like to change things from standard unless there's a simple option to reverse the process, but that's just my 1.5p/2c
