Looking for Best place to overhaul a 70's datejust in NYC
My wife is the beneficiary of my mother's 70's datejust with a burl dial. I am looking to get it overhauled as it basically doesn't keep time and am looking for best bang for the buck since she isnt in love with the watch at the moment. I am hoping that once it runs like a Rolex she will be more inclined to wear it. I would take it to Rolex except for a) cost b) aftermarket diamond bezel c) it has unknown provenance being originally acquired when my grandfather had a stall in the diamond district
Any suggestions for locations in NYC are welcome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

i would contact george at tempus fugit in the antiques bldng on 26th and 6th. he is an old school rolex and vintage guy and has a fantastic technician who did alot of service for us over the years. 47th st is ok service-wise too but too many of them to choose from and i'm not up on who is reasonably priced and reliable lately.

For no-hassle service, I've had good luck with Manhattan Time, 2 W. 46th, 212-840-0441. They are not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either, and they stand behind their work.
