Bloody Rolex... Incoming!
Good day everyone!
Bizarre experience with an AD today. After a year of enjoying my DSSD Blue (a chance find in an AD window in Greece whilst on holiday), I decided I needed something slimmer after an uncomfortable job interview with a tight shirt cuff over the DSSD a few months ago. Knowing that all SS sports models are like gold dust here in the UK, I added my name to several AD waiting lists around the South of England for a SubC and SubC Date, knowing that I might be in for long wait. This was 3 weeks ago. I received the call yesterday that there was a 114060 with my name on it. I was quite surprised at the relatively short wait and excited. I drove 83 miles this morning to pick it up and it's stunning. Love the symmetry as many of you do. The AD set himself up to remove 2 links for me, which he did very neatly and carefully except for when he gouged the screwdriver into his thumb and proceeded to bleed onto the bracelet. I'm not squeamish and it was not a deal breaker, but my brand new SubC was treated to a thorough clean the moment it got home. Would it be an issue for anyone else? |

Congrats!
As much as I love the batshit crazy overbuildness of the DSSD, it gets tiresome to wear one. |

Thanks Brian and no, he did a rudimentary clean with an anti-bac wipe and then a once over with a Cape Cod cloth. I just wanted to clean it to my standard when I got home.

I didn't think I was squeamish but a few years ago I sliced thru my hand trying to cut an avocado and I started bleeding... and then I bloody fainted! Just when I needed to be extra alert and attend to it, was really disappointing. Anyway congrats!

As long as you didn't get the red mist when he did it. A glass of claret and perhaps put your feet up and watch The Hunt for Red October on a plasma tv.
Now enjoy that beauty, congrats

Gotta say that makes your purchase into an interesting story. Many threads here about the "extras" ADs throw-in with a Rolex purchase. This beats them all!

So it is safe to have your AD bleed on your watch. Add that to the list.

Congrats on the Sub, it's the perfect watch! As far as the bleeding all over it goes, I would have tried to get a new one (if available)...if not, I'd probably try to skim some freebies and give it a good wash. It's a really expensive purchase after all!

Apparently they are good to go down to 1000 feet of blood so a few drops should be fine.
Some wiped off blood wouldn't bother me, but him using a cape cod on the brushed bracelet might. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Isn't a Cape Cod cloth meant for buffing out scratches?

When someone bleeds all over your watch (or anything for that matter) you clean it again when you get home lol!
Congrats OP. What a crazy experience! The sales rep gave his blood for the sale! |

Awesome pick! I chose the 114060 cause it was a touch slimmer too! I do love the symmetry that I wasn't aware of until I tried it on.
As for the DNA, oh well. Great start to a great relationship with that watch! |

Congrats! Great watch and nice start. Many times they take the watch into their shop to make adjustments where no one would be the wiser.

First there were "Blood diamonds"' now we have "Blood Rolexes".
You can't get blood out of a stone, but an AD salesperson... Next time I'm denied a discount, I'll ask for a drop or two! Regards |
