Daytona question.

I'm looking to add a ceramic Daytona but can't make a decision on color. I've been around TRF on and off for a while but never asked for advice on what to get. This is pretty tough one for me.

Currently own two Daytonas (out of my collection). This white one is my second 116520- I had to buy it again because first white one was traded for the YG.

I'm torn dead even. Of course, my initial plan was white ceramic because I always love white steel daytona. But black dial grew on me everyday and I'm at the point where I don't mind either. Besides design aspect, legibility is my concern. Black dial seems easier to read. Any thoughts? I'm not looking to get both sometime soon (in case for you enablers)

If you've already got those 2, I'd go RG Chocolate...

Both are great, but I suspect most would agree the white dial is easier to read.

Generally I would say white with panda rings, but in your case you have already a white one, hence the black makes more sense

I have a black dial 116520. I found that I couldn't read the white dial very well in bright sunlight. I also don't think that there's enough contrast between the sub-dials and the main dial on the white version.

If I were to go for a new SS ceramic, I think I'd favour the white dial this time because the white dial is nicely broken up by the dark sub-dials and black bezel. Also, I don't have anything in my collection with a white dial.

Black dial with black ceramic bezel is my choice in SS. But what do I know, it's just my favorite Daytona! Good luck with your choice.

As a matter of fact, RG chocolate was one of my options when I chose the YG. I don't plan on having two PM Daytonas. Cheers!

I see the white vs black very simple:

White for sporty/dressy combo
Black for sporty a bit dressy combo

Mu choice? Black.

But with daytonas, black or white, no wrong choices here.

That's exactly how I ended up.

I was so ready to say white. But then I read this. Perfect advice.

Black ceramic for sure. Outside of pm, it's my favourite Daytona.

You need the oysterflex for your collection.

I'm digging the black ceramic. Although it's up to you I think there is something special about the RG chocolate that makes it unique.

I'd say it doesn't make a lot of difference with that YG you've got. That thing is awesome!

Seriously, just see which one you can get your hands on first and most economically...which would probably be the black.

For SS models, I prefer the white dial in the Ceramic, and black dial in the pre-Ceramic.

Replace the dial and chrono hands on the white to black and source the new white 116500. As you already own the white dial, can Rolex do it for you at the next service? This may mean you have to give them the white dial and counters.

Option 2: A reputable watchmaker with a genuine Rolex parts account can maybe assist. I don't know the process or if it can even happen.
