Adding a ceramic bezel on a WG Daytona (116509)?

I love the ceramic bezel on the new Oysterflex white gold Daytona... But I can't do a Daytona without the bracelet. The bracelet version as you all know still doesn't come with the ceramic bezel.

Am I insane to want to get the 116509 and then figure out a way to buy a "replacement part" ceramic bezel to swap out?

Is this even possible? Would an AD even consider helping facilitate this, or is it against some Rolex policy?

Many thanks for the insights, as always!

To clarify, since pics always help... :)

I want to add the bezel from this onto this.

No ad will facilitate this.

I see.

So, is the suggested guidance that I should just forget about this ever happening? (And just wait/hope Rolex will release a 116509 with ceramic bezel?)

Or should I explore alternative ways of doing this?

No way to do this with OEM parts so I'd wait until Rolex release one.

If you could source a new OEM bezel from a 116500 that may work?

Can't you just buy what you want on the Oysterflex and then buy a bracelet?

No, the fittings for the end links are different for strap Daytona’s.

Checked both. No way. You may only swap dials between oysterflex and PM bezels.

I would get the one with the Oysterflex and buy a PM bracelet. Then you get the best of both worlds. You can throw on the Oysterflex for more active duty and the bracelet for dressing up.

Granted it would not be cheap. Basel 2018 maybe?

You can't do that. The end link on the oysterflex is built into the case of the watch and can't be removed therefore the bracelet won't fit

With enough money and drive anything can be done. I personally wouldn't go to the trouble, but that's just me.

If you decide to pursue it, my suggestion would be to buy the 116509 preowned as cheap as you can get (obviously in reasonably good condition) she since any existing warranty would be void. Then find an independent that will take on the job. You will pay top dollar for this mod IF you can source the factory bezel.

I'm actually also waiting (hoping) for the same model. Again, I wouldn't even bother with trying to make this mod happen, but it's your call.

That's mildly upsetting... Not that I have the money to do that anyway, but I love the ceramic with the panda dial.

I get the desire to mod watches, but can't see doing that to an expensive, almost new PM Daytona.

I am also looking to put in a ceramic dial for my SS Daytona. Think it looks better and will have less scratches as well.

Well, there goes my hopes on this one. :)

Thank you all for the insights.

I'll keep waiting in hopes that Rolex drops these at Basel 2018.

Add me to the list of people waiting for that release, the 116509 with ceramic bezel and silver dial with full black sub rings.

Keeping the powder dry with fingers crossed for Basel 2018, but not holding my breath....

Perhaps consider an aftermarket ceramic bezel and fit it on that 116509? Also saves that previous WG bezel from scratches!!
