...to ME, this one leaves more questions...
...than answers.
...I do not recall if this ref# offered/used the snow flake dial/hands. ASSUMING it did, then I would have to say the dial is most likely a redial and relumed hands. ...the case back does NOT appear correct for the watch. NONE of my ref material shows a 7754. There is a 7751, which was an Oyst Perp. ...the crown appears to be FAKE. ...the mvmt is likewise questionable....the rotor stampings do NOT look correct. I would ask for the ref# of the mvmt (located under the balance). ...the font of the SN and ref# appears okay. ...IF it were my $, I would look for a different watch. There are plenty of them available. Hope this helps, Stan. |

Thanks for the quick reply, Stan. I think you've pointed out enough to make me shy away from this one.
I asked my local AD if they had any old Submariners in the back and the sales lady brought out a watch that had the snowflake hands like this one and the dial said Rolex. Before she handed it to me, I said "that's not a Rolex". I looked at the between the lugs (it was on an old leather strap) and saw the ref number 7016/0. I told her it was a Tudor reference number and that with her loupe it was easy to see the dial had been badly redone. I really like that style of Tudor sub, however, and have wondered since how much it would cost to find an appropriate dial and make it into a nice daily wear watch. Any idea where to find such a dial and how much it would cost?

maybe we where a bit harsh on your posted watch-I doubled checked all the statistics about that model and save the caseback which might very well be a service replacement it does check out.I still dont think the hands are authentic but these things are small if you can get it cheap enough..

Err buddy 1Mac...the Hands are definitely FAKE...or aftermarket.
The Dials looks too new for comfort... The unfamiliar movement's rotor blade seems to be stamped with 23 Jewels? IF so...that's not correct...should be with 25 Jewels...ETA 2776 on 94010 |
