Vintage bracelet. Authentic?
Can anyone comment on this bracelet? Date code is from 1964. Is it just me or does it seem like a link is missing on the side where the Rolex crown is?
Thanks |

From the crispness of the Rolex stamping and the coronet on the clasp, it APPEARS fake...of course, more knowledgeable people than I will chime in soon!

Appears to be ok, the bad thing about the riveted bracelets is, is that you can not add links back in. So if it's too small do not buy it. In the above example, the links taper down as they get closer to the clasp, it's just more noticeable when one of the tapered links is removed.

Interesting info, I was told that once a riveted link is removed that it's not useable again. Good to know.

Thank you all for your response. What I'm worried about is what seems like a missing link. If you compare the links on both side of the clasp it seems like one side is missing a link, the change of size in the links does not match the other side.

Err buddies...Orchi begs to differ here...
Although Orchi likes the clasps/buckle...Orchi thinks the riveted links have been incorrectly arranged... The shorter ends of the folded links are supposed to be the closest n facing towards BOTH the EndLinks(unmarked - not so preferable)...which in this case does not seem to be so... It would appear the opposite where the shorter ends of the folded links are facing towards the clasp/buckle instead...which is wrong. |

Maybe the puzzle was put together incorrectly, it is missing links etc, but nothing indicates it is a fake band. It wouldn't take much to make that band correct again, especially if the price is right. Maybe Tudorman can "chime in" here and say what it would cost to make this band correct again.

...100% Genuine...HOWEVER...
...here is the catcher...
...the endpieces AND links are from the Rolex USA bands and the buckle/folding clasp is a Swiss made, such as found on the 7205. If you would ask the seller, I will BET that the links have the HOLLOW rivits (Rolex USA) as opposed to the Swiss made solids. ...as Springer has indicated, links CAN be added OR removed, as needed. BUT, it is not a straight forward operation, as you can end up distorting them. I RECENTLY did a link addition for another TRF mbr, Pav. Stan. |

The band is most certainly authentic, correct markings, condition is great for the age. Very rare to see a fake from this era, even so markings would surely be off. Missing one link on the photos left side, this is cleary evident from the drop in link level from the left side going towards the clasp. Do not think it is midding anymore than one link, links can be added for this model. $300 is decent, but not a steal!

Not that I would want to disagree with anyone more knowledgeable than myself but all of the rivet bracelets I've seen photos of have had the date stamp towards the outer edge, not next to the hinge.
