Suspicious Responses to WTB ads

Recently, I've gotten a few responses to my WTB ads from newly signed up posters with zero posts, asking me to provide them my e-mail for further information.

Has anyone else been getting these types of PMs? I'm highly suspicious of providing my e-mail given that there have been quite a few recent cases on here where people have had their accounts phished, and scammers use their accounts to post FS ads.

Yep, the WTB section can be a mine-field for potential buyers posting there.
Any time you get a suspicious message, I would report it (red triangle at the top right corner of every message).

Thanks for the tip. I used to just delete them, now I've started reporting them. All banned.

Most of scams happen from WTB ads...Be very careful. Only deal with people with solid reputation and feedback.

The “send me an email for addition communication” request is just a scam for harvesting live emails, which are then sold. The last thing anyone should do is reply.

this

I don't understand the point of WTB as if you are only going to deal with known sellers, just ask them. WTB is just asking for sketchy replies.
