Two SS in One Day

So this just happened.

According to the AD in Guam, one of their regulars had been waitlisted for this BLNR for many months. One unit finally arrived last week, but for some reason the customer backed out.

The next day, my cousin was walking around the mall and remembered I had asked her to be on the lookout for a BLNR. She just casually asked if they have one in stock, expecting a hard no, but lo and behold!

They have one that they were just about to put on display. I am still in a bit of a shock at this incredibly fortunate find. As my cousin said, it was really meant to be mine.

Then bonus round: on the very same day, the AD in Manila told me that the SubC Date LN I had reserved three months ago, had finally arrived.

What manner of sorcery is this?!? :D

Both still wrapped in their original plastic and tags. I haven't even opened them yet.

So here is the current state of the collection :

Just wanted to share this as a reminder to my fellow expectant customers, that despite the global shortage, good things come to those who wait. Sometimes on the same day.

Great collection and great additions to it! Oddly enough, I too did the same double pick up last year (though neither remains in the collection). Huge congrats.

I am thinking to sell the SubC Date eventually because I already have a black dial black face in my DSSD. And my original goal was to get a Hulk, so really have to sell that to fund the green monster.

Thank you sir! Haha, the box is just very photogenic on the inside. It's a $17 box that I bought online. Trust me, it's not very good. But thanks for noticing!

Thank you! DD36 with MOP dial actually. The one watch I have worn only a handful of times in the 15 years I've owned it. I love the mother of pearl, but just can't rock that YG look. Maybe soon though.

Thank you sirs!

Now on the lookout for a Submariner Hulk to sort of round out the collection. There seems to be a lot of stock in Asia, but the prices are somewhat high. My guy in HK is pushing a used on on me for US$10,000. That's crazy high right?

I spend some a month or so every year in L.A. Maybe I'll just buy one there next year.
