What ifs

The green subs (sorry I cant bring myself to use cartoon names) seem to be crazy popular. What if Rolex brought out some other colors for the SS Subs...Blue (sunburst), red, yellow.... Do you think these would take off? I understand Green is Roles's color if you will, but just thinking if I was a big shot at Rolex, I would be thinking maybe a blue next year and them maybe the yellow 2 or 3 years later... Any thoughts?

Blue would be a real hit . Bet it would look great . Thought the same thing . The green bezel is really growing on me even though I’m not a green fan in general .

I am not sure if they will bring out multiple stainless color Subs at once. it's like competing against yourself. different material, yes. There is a blue WG sub now.

For a conservative perfectionist brand like Rolex that practices evolution rather than revolution, it's not gonna happen in the time frame that you have mentioned.
Funky loud warm colours ( Sunburst Yellow or Orange dial for a Rolex anyone ? ) on the dial of a luxury watch requires an unquestionable amount of confidence on the part of the owner to pull it off .Sure, Rolex could spice things up on the dial but it needs to remain perfectly wearable, legible, less clownish and still looks luxurious. It really works very well with 60-70s Vintage themes and quirky designs by Doxa, Seiko and many Microbrands ,mid luxury watches like Breitling and some German watchmaker brands. The finest and most prestigious Swiss luxury watch IMHO that can pull off an orange or yellow dial and still look so regal is an AP ROO !
Having said that, I believe it is NOT Rolex but Tudor that will take charge, introduce more exotic and funky dials or retro iconic reissues with a modern contemporary twist in the coming Baselworld fairs.

Ok I'm done here

Idk if they would take off...

But I do appreciate the few color selections for the submariner.

You can choose either black, blue or green.

Black can be bought in SS, and is cheaper than blue or green, (if bought in SS) but it’s the classic.

Green is the new thing, but you have to pay a little more for it.

Blue is beautiful, but blue means gold, and it’s more expensive.

Or you can buy black SS, black two tone, or all gold!

I kind of like the few options and what they mean in a way.

Of course this is without taking vintage pieces into consideration.

Just my thoughts!

Technically, Rolex is already doing it with the Black Bay. Black, blue, red, green LE, bronze, bronze blue LE, silver, blacked out, two-tone, etc etc etc

It just ends up being tacky

I'm sure they would sell. Not that I would be interested in them, but they'd definitely sell. and if they're some "limited" model, they'd sell out faster than they can put them out.

Of course it would sell. Rolex could sell their own shit as long as it's says Rolex on it...

Look at the prices of simple pocket knives and spring bar tools that I can literally buy for €25 directly from Rolex, these go for hundreds and hundreds online. Insane.

White or grey would sell very well, give the white D500 a run for its money, well it will be a marathon to get one.

I do think these would be popular - not as popular as the classic black, but nonetheless, they would motivate a certain segment of the market to acquire yet another Sub.

I’d view these as analogous to the AP Divers that were released in vibrant colours - personally, I liked them, but not enough to justify paying the AP asking price (c18k, if I’m not mistaken) but at a Sub price point of c9k I’d certainly pick up a Rolex in a fun, non traditional colour
