Vintage Baume & Mercier Knowledge Needed ?????

I happened across this watch, and I’m quite taken by it !
Supposedly around 1963, 38.2 mm, Landeron 51 movement, SS, original dial, etc.

Any info would be greatly appreciated !

Looks nearly identical to a breitling Landeron I have, but that one was from 1941 if I remember correctly, I think your baum is from earlier than 1963..

Not mine .................... yet, but I want it if correct. Below is the explanation of year determination, of which I have no knowledge. Web searches have not been beneficial either.

“The Landeron 51 movement had an amazingly long production life, which spanned from 1937 to 1970. The earlier Baume & Mercier chronographs had an inner dust case, which this doesn’t. The dial doesn’t have three minute international telephone markers, which were fazed out in the early sixties on most chronographs. The pushers are also the flat type rather than pump pushers, again this is most common in the mid sixties. Adding all this together we come to a date of circa 1963”

Trigger pulled !

Guess I’ll find out if it was a mistake or not ! Sometimes the heart wins out, that’s what watches do !

Arrived today and I absolutely love it ! I have vintage watches worth many times more than this watch, but it just speaks to me.

I’m a big fan of high dome crystals
