Band too small.. Dad lost links ( bark )
Hi there,
I was hoping someone here could give me some advice regarding the Rolex he gave me... It is a Oyster Perpetual Rolex with the bark dial and middle links. Unfortunately he lost the links he removed and it is very tight. Before I go to the local jeweler who is Rolex authorized and order some replacements, I thought I would check to see if anyone had suggestions. I would rather not pay $500 to $1000 per link, but not sure what to else do. Was wondering if any aftermarket links would be ok. I found a few that said they were 18kt gold solid and not hollow. but for $270, I don't think that would be 18kt? I don't care too much if they are non Rolex...and I am not planing to sell it. Input appreciated. Dave |

Aftermarket gold links won’t match.
If you’re worried about the price, table it and get a nice leather strap

Hmmm. Not really worried about the price. Would say curious and cautious.
and thanks for the reply! |

Have you tried the micro adjustments in the clasp? Maybe you could get enough play to not need an extra link.

My AD quoted something like 515 for rolex bark presidential link. I attempted to buy some off ebay etc, and they didn't fit.

I really didn't know there was an adjustment for the band... I hadn't noticed this. I will take a closer look.
but i did go by my jeweler and we determined I need 3 links. I am getting an estimate for the links and a service. |

I would not go non Rolex, but I would for sure consider used if you can find it. Some folks on here will not consider Ebay at all. I consider Ebay with extreme caution. I think you could find an original bark link if you dont mind waiting for a few hundred bucks. However, if you can get a new one from Rolex for $500 or so I would consider that.

this guy has 3 links avail maybe he'd work a deal? Good reviews but I would definitely ask if they are genuine to get him on record saying they are or aren't....... it says "not aftermarket" in the description, not that is was never written before only to be found false... fwiw

sorry.. I am very new to all this.
For that ebay link. It said it was for a 20mm band. Is that measured at the watch connect point? When i measure the width of a link at the clasp, it is 16mm. |

Can't post links yet... ;-( I am thinking of going with this.. He has a complete page where he states they are authentic.. Could be BS.. but seems not. Help and input appreciated. |
