absolutely.

and a 10 year anniversary is coming up.

classic rolex form follows function, the best bezel action on a rolex diver, a pinnacle of case engineering in the watch industry.

a bull deserving of the 666 ref number.

Have had mine for a number of years and have had some ups/downs in terms of keeping vs flipping or trading. But at the end of the day I know that I appreciate the over engineering that went into its production and that it represents the pinnacle of Rolex dive watch technology. Style....well that could be argued and I'll save that for another conversation.

Have to agree. Its the best luxury dive watch on the market today along with the AP Diver hands down. Only the new Grand Seiko Divers come close.

Too big for my wrist; it's a great watch but just won't work for me.

I wonder how many DSSD have been down to 3900m?

Actually, I wonder how many have been down to 100m?

When I went to the AD and asked to see the DeepSea, the first thing they said to me was: "Oh, do you dive?"

And I said : "No...why???"

Of course there is love for it, but it’s a unique watch by Rolex standards for its heft and size. Omega Planet Ocean aficionados would have no problem adapting to its size, but Rolex dive watch lovers, on the whole look at a watch that size and have difficulty wrapping their heads around it. It has always been a niche within the Rolex lineup, and more and more potential buyers will go for the smaller Sea Dweller 43.
