Rust damage on my Oyster Perpetual Watch
Many years ago I encountered water damage to my watch due to the spindle springing out after locking it and not realising. It was sent off to the Rolex factory and I received a £800 repair which I couldn't afford at the time and the watch wasn't insured.
Obviously by now it has complete rust damage. What I would like to know is; could I have the interior of the watch replayed by someone else apart from Rolex, just to get it working. It's a pity to waste such an expensive watch. |

Probably cheaper at Rolex though for a new movement, and probably stem and crown, and maybe the case too.

You might try some independents with a parts account who could put a new movement in for less than Rolex might charge for the same work, but honestly, it would be my preference to have Rolex do the work.
It might cost more, but you'd have the peace of mind knowing that the watch was done right and with a warranty to back it up.

Send it to Rolex. What do you have to loose but the minimal decline fee?
