Advice please on 116519 Daytona wg black racing dial
Hello Everyone, please go easy, newbie here and first post. I am looking a couple at a couple of different Daytona 116519 wg with leather strap One is circa 2006 with black racing dial with red around border and red hands. Price is 15k with box and papers. What do you guys think about that price and the black racing dial ? Thanks. Rrp

I’m not a fan of modern Daytona’s on a strap. The bracelet is such an integral part of the Watch - to me.
Speedmasters oth look better on strap to me. |

Those are nice, but you would not be able to add a WG bracelet in the future on that model, so is a leather only watch

Bad price. Market is very soft. Only difference in the strap Daytona between the 2006 and a first generation in-house movement (2000/P forward I believe) is the engraved bezel and fat hands. Nothing super rare about the black racing dial but it's more commonly found on the bracelet model. I recently sold my WG on strap with meteorite for $12,750 and at one time that dial alone was worth $4,000. If you buy a PM Daytona make sure the bezel lettering is crisp and legible. Bezel is soft and any major polishing blunts the edges and deteriorates the black numbers. Bottom line, assuming mint condition, maybe $13,000-13,500 area seems right. Just my opinion.

Wish I could have bought that. Lowest price 166519 I can find is 14,500 for white dial.
