Black dial question - 116520 // 116500

Is there any difference between the black dial on the 116520 and the 116500?

Yes. The 116500 subdials aren't as shiny. They are definitely more matte for legibility.

I found this quite noticeable when holding the two together.

I would like to see a 116520 with a 116500 dial. (Or just a 116500 with a SS bezel.) I'm sure it would look noticeably less shiny than a 116520.

Ceramic bezel.

I think it looks way better than the 520 models, but recently there seems to be a big push on 116520 prices and desirability.

Even they're the same size, in real life some how the black ceramic Daytona looks smaller.

All 116500 will be marked on the 27 minute point with 2 lines after 25. A lot of the 116520 just had 1 mark on the 26 minute mark. Sub dials on the 116500 are easier to read.

Yes. The sub dials are now grey not silver, plus the writing is more compact.

The subdials contrast better on the ceramic bezel model.

Attention to detail!

Very cool, thanks for pointing that out.

I feel it's the opposite. The black dial with ceramic bezel make it appear bigger...

I agree.

To my eye a Sub looks bigger than a Daytona with a SS bezel.
