According to them the rolex counter within Harrods do not reserve SS daytonas for anyone. They apparently put them straight into the window and are sold on a first come first sold basis. Bet that first customer works in the adjacent watch dept though ....

The dealer who has the Rolex concession inside Harrods pays 15% to 25% for every sale he makes from the top, commission to the establishment for the right to operate inside this MEGA money making building. Can you imagine a watch which untill recently was providing a handsome premium income to all AD's worlwide to be shared at normal retail with Harrods..???? Police-Give me a brake..."we put it straight on the window"..??.. |

And by the way, we went to Harrod's in 2006 and the only thing I could afford was to breathe the air. Sheesh! What a store!
Beautiful and extravagant! Loved every minute of it!

Make a sentence from these words.
"in Harrods I would buy more money than sense my Rolex because I have."

Super place for sure.... I was there in 2001, and man was I blown away with all the goodies and the layout.
I recently saw an old documentary on TV about Harrods... It has an amazing history in terms of the building and its facilities. There are hidden staircases and tunnels.... secure rooms and vaults etc. One guy they interviewed was like way into his seventies, I think, and had been working there since his late teens. They also still do deliveries by horse and carriage!!! Such nostalgia!!! :-) |

That bottle would have gone straight in a shopping bag! I know one member here collects old beer bottles from a recent thread. Their watch department is great but I always got the impression that the girls on the Rolex stand didn't really ever have a clue what they were talking about!!!!!!!!! J |

That White F430 has UAE license plates on it.
The mega rich Arabs would bring their cars from UAE while hoildaying in London during their summer. |

All of these cars around Harrods had Arabic license plates...
I also saw a couple Ferarri's with Russian plates....
