Loud movement

I have an OLD automatic tudor chronograph. just serviced by rolex in Prague last spring. Anyway I hope this is a mental thing but it feels like it's winding noise is very loud. I especially notice this when I write ( I am a lefty) is this all in my head or are these older movements all very noisy in general?

Probably a Valjoux 7750 movement. They are notoriously loud, rather like a little tank in there. The 7750 is a very dependable workhorse albeit a little noisy going about its job. Rolex used that movement in the first of the Cosmographs, before they went to Zenith.

not ETA? thanks. it really is like a little tank. sometimes i think i feel it vibrating. I worry too much

My recent Tudor Chrono although not silent is very quiet, the one I bought my son however is very loud & felt sorta "quivery" in the hand. Had it down to RSC Bexley & they say it'd never been serviced hence the "cricket" noise.

They want £140 for the regular service + it needs new pushers at £70 & it'll be good as new & purring

Well depending on how old your Tudor Chronograph is they all used ETA Valjoux movement.From 1960 Ref 7179 7159/0 Valjoux 234,ref 7169 ETA Valjoux 234 17jewel,ref 7732/0 7720/30/0 Valjoux 7734.Models like 74200.7421/0 from late 1970s80s the Valjoux 7750 to the present day.The Valjoux 7750 the winding rotor only winds one way. And it can be heard and even felt on the wrist its just one on the quirks of the 7750.
