SS Daytona, GMT2c or Milgauss?

Hi All,

Newbie here. Never knew this site existed! I thought I knew a bit about Rolex, but wow! how much more have I learnt…

Just wanted to get some kinda feedback/ points of view over the above mentioned pieces and its current market. Obviously I like all three (although I haven’t seen the Milgauss in the flesh yet) but not sure which one to go for...

The other thing is that an AD called me last Saturday to let me know that an SS Daytona with Black Dial had arrived… after 3˝ year wait. I think I prefer the white dial and hence turned it down… was that a bad move? Another AD called on the same day to tell me that a Black Dial Milgauss was available and offered with a 10% discount (without even haggling!)

But then I really like the GMT2c….

With the credit crunch – do you think it's better to wait and see if there are any further discounts available?

Thanks in advance!

All 3 are nice... hence so difficult to decide... Do you think that the SS Daytona will remain in high demand as it has been in the last 10 - 15 year....

Yes. Perhaps to a slightly lesser degree as money is tight, but it will still be in demand.

I think now is a great time to get a SS Daytona as there seems to be more around. Once the economy improves they will be harder to come by again.

Personally I would have snapped up the Daytona eventhough I already own a white face, latter Z.
Buy it, store it and decide in a few weeks as to what you're gonna do with it. Keep it, sell it, make love to it, etc. Making a snap decision on a watch that will always sell for RRP+ was a mistake IMHO. Sorry to say it.
With regards the Black milgauss.....well done to pass. You'll always want the GV, trust me. As the owner of a white one I honestly thought I would be happy with it but just couldn't resist adding the GV a few days back.
FYI as im sure you're aware Black and White mils are selling for less than RRP in many AD's now. Not too many but definitely some. Build up a relationship with a good AD and they'll look after you. With the GV you'll be in the same position as the SS daytona. You should buy it, store and decide your intentions with a cool head and not "Rolex Eyes".

Among these 3 models. Daytona is the hardest model to catch. If you are looking for Milgauss GV then you will have to wait for time aswell.

However all these 3 models are awesome and it is a really personal taste depending which one will suits you best.

If you are around London area you should be snatch a Milgauss Black or White and GMT IIc without any problem.

You probably should have snapped up the Black Daytona as they are still hard to find even during these rough economic times.

The 3 different models you mentioned are all beautiful watches............each one has a loyal and devoted following as each has a look all to its own. A tough choice indeed............i guess whichever one speaks to you.

Good luck
