Datejust vs oyster perpetual

As some of you would of read my last post asking about dials on the op for my wifes up coming 30th B'Day.
I thought id update our recent purchase.

We were going to go for a 31mm op for her but rolex dont do an all silver dial for this watch. If they did the search may have been concluded.

As the days went on though i knew in my heart that a date just with jubilee would be the grail watch for her.

I just didnt want to justify the extra $$$$

So was pretty convinced on a 31mm op silver dial with pink indices... unfortunately know one had one in stock nor could give a eta on one.

As i thought about it more & more i decided just to bite the bullet and get the watch she dreamt of....

Can always save more money but its not easy to make an op a date just

Any way its a couple of months to her birthday but ive
told her just to rock it now

Totally the right choice. The white gold bezel, hands and hour markers work perfectly with the white precious metal and diamonds that make up her rings. It looks great on her. Of course, it helps that her skin's complexion is perfect, too :-)

That is such the perfect size for a women's wrist. I don't know why so many woman still insist on buying the 36mm, when the 31mm is so much more elegant and classy....and well-proportioned to a women's wrist.

Agreed. My wife was insistent on trying the 36mm and even wanted to try the 41mm... this coming from someone with less than a 6" wrist. Ended up getting her a 28mm and she's over the moon with it.

Looks beautiful. She is one lucky lady. The Datejust looks better on her than the OP for sure.

Thanks Gents,

Yep shes over the moon with the watch and all the nice comments.

Next she will be on here posting

Unfortunately it looks like the watch may be going back to the Ad as they have some how managed to damage the case while removing the bracelet...

Got me stuffed how this has happened as i don't imagine it needs removing to re-size the bracelet.

Ive E mailed them today and they are happy to replace it but Im sure it will be a fair old wait for that model!

Its not to bad but it is on the top side of the case and it has burred edges where the bracelet is fitted into the case lugs.

if it was underneath (where there is also one scratch) I would have just copped it.

Not sure what to do & may start another post on it

Just pissed off as we purchased new from an Ad for a reason.

Wow

Very sorry to hear this. Resizing is a piece of cake and only involves removing a couple screws, should take 5 minutes and even an untrained monkey can do it (you'd think....)

Hope you get it sorted out.

I'd push for the dealer to find a new one ASAP, even if it means getting one from another dealer. It's their problem, they need to fix it.

Very glad to know that you got the watch your wife really wanted and that the AD did the right thing. Please tell your wife Happy Birthday and her new watch looks stunning on her wrist!
Best,
Scott

P.S. Sir, you did a great job!
P.S.S. Feel free to post more pics-we can never see enough!

Happy ending, congrats! That watch looks great on her

Now buy yourself a set of high quality screw drivers and learn to do the adjustment yourself. It's trivial. Indeed it's so easy it's hard to believe ADs can mess this up - we've seen threads with some real damage caused by ADs.
