Dear friends,
Yesterady at 6PM I noticed that the "seconds" hand was 10s before the top of the dial when the "minutes" hand was just at the perfect position. Today at 6PM also, I notice that the "seconds" hand is 5 seconds AFTER the top of the dial when the "minutes" hand is at the pefect position. Is this normal ?

I really do not think it is a problem at all.

On the two occasions was the time exactly the same?

I think you should look at this over a longer period.

How is your watch otherwise keeping time, is it within COSC specifications.

Your Philppe Dufour Simplicity is a beautiful watch--wish I could afford one. Congratulations on that. It must be a privilege to wake up in the morning and put that one on.

Regarding your Rolex: yes, this is normal. As long as the Rolex performs withing COSC specs, you are doing OK. However, it doesn't sound as if this is what you are actually noticing, but the precision of the hands in alignment with the timing of the watch itself. I have also had issues with this myself. If the performance stays within 5 seconds, I would let it go--but you can mention it when you send in your watch for service. I can't remember what I paid, but the hands on my watch were off about 3 minutes. Once it was repaired, it worked fine for many more years.

Thanks for showing us the photo of the Simplicity--that is a breathtakingly beautiful watch!

Nice watches ... wouldn't worry about the seconds vs. the minute hand. Try to hack it and wiggle the minute hand back and forth a bit to see if that makes it more in line with your exacting (nothing wrong with that) standards.

My mistake ... many regrets. You GMT IIc is solid 18kt, not TT ... My offer's still good to take it off your hands anyway if you don't like the results.
